Located in Hillsborough County in the state of Florida, Church Lake is a small body of water encompassing only 69 acres. This lake is surrounded by a handful of similarly sized lakes and ponds.

Many of the homes on Church Lake have private docks for storing kayaks, canoes, and non-motor boats.

Fishing

Anyone who enjoys fishing can leisurely spend their time on the shoreline of Church Lake casting a line. The largemouth bass is one of the more popular species caught on the lake.

Rice Creek Conservation Area

On the eastern edge of the Church Lake Community is Rice Creek Conservation Area. The site protects a variety of natural communities, including floodplain swamp, Flatwoods, dome swamp, floodplain forest, and mixed upland forest.

Visitors enjoy exploring the Spanish moss and viewing local wildlife in Rice Creek Swamp. One of the unique aspects of the Rice Creek Conservation Area is a historic levee built for an 18th-century rice plantation that will take visitors along a walk into the heart of the swamp to view the seventh-largest cypress tree in Florida.
